Hey everyone, I know I haven't posted a lot lately, I'm sorry. Work has been really busy lately and as a result I haven't gotten a chance to write at all! :(
Fortunately we will be taking a trip soon to Starved Rock State Park so I'll be able to report on that along with lots of pictures of pretty fall colors! Then in November Mrs. Snuggliestbear and I are heading out west to Utah for a "bizcation". I think we will avoid snow for the most part and I haven't decided whether we should go to the Moab area (with Arches National Park, Canyonlands NP) or the Bryce Canyon area (and Zion NP, maybe the Grand Canyon's north rim if we are really crazy!).
Any suggestions? Any opinions on which area we should stay in?

A few years ago the state of Illinois decided to pick out the “7 Wonders of Illinois” and Allerton was featured as one of those places. The entire area is kept up by and belongs to the University of Illinois, which is located about a half hour east. Allerton is a mansion, lanscaped gardens, and forest preserve all rolled into one, which makes it a great place to go see beauty, both natural and manmade.
